Protecting Personal Data:

Product Development in a Changing Regulatory Land

In this LinkedIn Live event, IEEE and the IAPP will discuss how privacy regulations have brought big changes to the technical engineering landscape, and specifically resulted in the creation of the role of Privacy Engineer. Dr. Gurvinder Tejay from the IEEE Digital Privacy Initiative will lead a discussion with Byron Johnson and Janelle Hsia of the IAPP about the changes we saw in 2021, what we’re seeing now in 2022, and predictions for the future as they relate to the professionals tasked with creating the products and services of the digital economy. The collaboration between IAPP and IEEE is a powerful meeting of the leading voices in engineering and privacy. Since these two disciplines are now meeting in the data economy, this conversation will be a great jumping off point for technical engineering professionals and product developers interested in understanding how privacy regulations are transforming the way they need to do their jobs. Sign up for future programming on this topic and others including:

- 2021 in review
- 2022 state of privacy engineering
- Future Predictions
- How privacy regulations are changing the role of technology and engineering professionals
